Thank you for that input. It really highlights the major questions facing us
in this whole technological congervence process. From a technologist
point of view, convergence is is more about advances in technology and
economic advantages. For us broadcasters, we are more concerns
about issues of content, hence the question of cultural and social issues.
We need to ensure that such issues of content, are overshadowed or
swallowed and end up ignored, as a result we become mere receivers
of among others imperialist information, etc. This is where the question of
production is to me also critical, who produces information.

I therefore agree with you and submit that its true that the debate about 
technological convergence (from some or most technologists) is not
about cultural and social issues. It is against this background that I
support that this aspect should be high on the agenda of our contribution
to the debate.
