Scholarships

Up to twenty full scholarships will be made available to attend the Quito meeting, including airfare and accommodation for the duration of the event. These scholarships are available for senior representatives from rural radio stations, rural communication projects and national radio networks. The scholarships are being provided by the infoDev Conference Scholarship Fund (iCSF). People who have received iCSF support in the past are not eligible for an iCSF scholarship. Successful candidates will be selected from the region for their expertise in rural communication and their interest in and experience with incorporating new ICTs in their radio station. They will be expected to make substantive contributions to the discussions, including, for example, presentations and papers based on their own experience. The Selection Committee will also seek to ensure broad representation from the countries and sub-regions and particularly encourages applications from women.

Requests for scholarships should include a brief biography of the candidate, a description of the radio station/network/communication project represented, and a letter (maximum two pages) explaining why you want to attend the meeting. If you want to present a paper or your own experience with radio, ICTs and rural communication, please include a brief description of your presentation.
