Hello All, Hola, Salut: Sorry for the delay introducing myself! I am still in the middle of several AMARC threads and trying to catch up on all the ideas being shared. I do research for the Center for Children & Technology, an educational non-profit in New York City. The work we do ranges from media education to developing on-line professional development communities for teachers, from research on technology access, diversity and design to research on gender, on-line environments and mentoring. On my own time, I am committed to media literacy and activism, youth produced media and working with a human rights organization to bring human rights films into classrooms. I believe an international charter on communications rights is integral for several reasons, including to lay a groundwork for greater access and means for communities, individuals, countries, to produce their own media - print, radio, video, on-line, etc. and to communicate with each other. I cannot comment on the threads yet but look forward to entering into the conversations soon.
