I am wondering if there are any participants from Puerto Rico who could
comment on the recent general strike, successful but of no consequence to
the inexorible march of global capital, 
this time in the form of GTE.  It seems to me that the situation there is
of great relevance in any discussion of public interest regulation of
communication systems.  In this case the entir
workforce of not only the phone company, but the entire island struggled to
maintain public control.  But lost.  Where do we go from here?
